We thought it might be fun to show photographs of a Discerner Special Edition being hand-built. More photos of the process will be added as they are ready.

The ferrules rough-finished and in place on the stabilized grip core.

Each Discerner Special Edition grip is made with two opposite twist strands of twisted pair wire (one right hand twist, one left hand twist). 80 feet of wire goes into each grip.

Here are Eric and Tristan twisting wire into twisted pairs.

This is Eric with the two opposite-twist strands, winding them onto a grip.

A close-up. Tension must be kept on the two strands of wire to get them to "lay" correctly and tightly on the grip.

With the wire wrap complete and the ferrules fitted, Eric does some final hand-filing and finishing on the ferrules.

Eric tightens the pommel nut to check fit on the final assembly.

Checking the assembly for alignment and fit.
