Handmade scabbard
in a style popular in the mid 15th C.
The scabbard features:
-- all natural
vegetable tanned calfskin
-- authentic laced/integral belt construction
-- hand-forged chape, strap-end and buckles
-- hand-stitched back seam
This is an outstanding example of the scabbardmaker's art, thoroughly
authentic, handmade of the finest materials.
Kevin based this scabbard on a similar period contemporary sword
in the Trinity Altarpiece of St. George painted by the artist Vandergoes
in 1470.
