The
Making of an Albion Scabbard
(Langsax
Scabbard with bronze fittings pictured)

The
scabbard is hand carved to the shape and taper of the blade.
|

Both
halves are glued together, shaped on a belt sander and then hand
sanded. A coat of wood sealer is applied to the exterior of the
core. This protects the core from water damage or warping.
|

A
100% genuine leather cover is placed over the wood core, and the
seam is hand stitched with sinew or linen thread. Multiple coats
of leather dye are applied to ensure a uniform finish, and a coat
of oil preserves the leather.
|

The metal
fittings are created and riveted into place.
